Re:Wired is a showcase of local contemporary artists with a focus on experimental electronic sound, art, and performance.
Through a collection of artist talks, demos, and performances, we aim to highlight the current and future state of these artforms and the people behind them. We invite artists into a space created for them to experiment and explore, allowing emerging contemporary work to exist and to share it to our community.
Electronic art and sound is ever-evolving, making it the art of the present and the future. This artform is a big part of MassArt’s SIM major and its history, as electronics are a new and boundary breaking medium— just as SIM is a relatively new major that aims to break boundaries in institutional art education and practice. As we were born into the digital age, electronics have impacted our practices and the way we view the world. Because of this, we found the theme of electronic mediums to be both historically and personally important.
The festival aims to give back to our community, creating a free opportunity to connect diverse artists, audience, and producers.
